Literature Text

sweeping through the corridors within my shivering mind
waltzing and sparkling, twinkling with golden light
the music dances with wild abandon
among my wandering, delirious thoughts

outstretched arms and pointed toes
notes rising and falling on the winds
of hushed twilight and heightened dawn
flowing with the strength of a thousand rivers

it rushes past the blued shards
of my tattered consciousness,
caressing them with a feathery touch as it goes by
bringing the song to my lips
and I sing, sing for all the world to hear,
the sound in my throat bubbling with the beauty
of a writhing, twirling, forgotten art

the perfection of its grace spins webs
of cobalt and ebony in the shadowed recesses
and craggy caves that wind through my skull
weaving the bright ribbons of sound
through my very  b e i n g

the gentle warmth of its living breath
calls a crimson smile to my trembling lips
and my eyes flicker behind closed lashes
while the ecstasy of knowing true beauty
calls forth a rush of air into my lungs

my head rings and reverberates with the melody
as it laughs and murmurs its sweet tune to me

it spins like a tottering child,
all dimples and sweet innocence
curly hair waving in a whispering breeze
a yellowed picture of pure happiness

so the music dances
the epitome of grace
the fragrance of beauty
the sweetness of time and rhythm and meter

they all join as one to tiptoe through my mind
gliding among the soaring spires
and illuminating the lurking dungeons
I hide beneath flashing smiles

it plays with me
forever gleeful in the warmth of life and sound

I'm not good enough to criticize this... I'm more of a story teller than a poet but I've been getting into poetry lately. All I can say is that I really like this and that you're quite the word smith; "they all join as one to tiptoe through my mind
gliding among the soaring spires
and illuminating the lurking dungeons
I hide beneath flashing smiles" that part for example was really clever. You really know how to stimulate a person's imagination with your words and I salute you.
